What is Pramiracetam?

Pramiracetam is another original racetam derivative which has been shown to be much more potent than its precursor. In fact, it is believed to be around 30 times more powerful than original racetam. Therefore, it should be taken in lower dosages. Unlike most other racetams, Pramiracetam seems to work after acute dosages. In other words, the below described cognitive benefits will be observed after single dosage.

Pramiracetam enhances acetylcholine neurotransmission in the brain pathways associated with cognitive processes, including learning and memory formation. In additio, it leads to improved thinking abilities. Users also experience an improvement in their sensory perception. Pramiracetam affect mood to a much smaller degree in comparison to other racetams.

Key benefits:

  • Long-term memory formation
  • Enhanced information processing speed
  • Improved general cognitive function

Mechanisms of action:

Although exact mechanisms of action are not well known, mechanisms underpinning Pramiracetam’s appear to be similar to those of other racetams. Pramiracetam increases the rate of high affinity choline uptake (HACU) in the hippocampus. This leads to a greater acetylcholine synthesis which plays a very important role in the formation and creation of new neuronal connections. In addition, it raises the levels of energy by improving the ATP synthesis. This results in the increase of cAMP levels in the brain. A number of brain receptor sites, including glutamate, are modulated following Pramiracetam use. Interestingly, Pramiracetam has been shown to have promising results in increasing the neural communication between the left and right hemispheres by having a positive effect on the corpus callosum. Such preliminary findings may change the way we learn and improve a range of different skills, such as creativity. It also exhibits a very high oral bioavailability.

Recommended dosage:

The recommended daily dosage is 800 – 1200 mg taken in 2 or 3 equal administrations. Pramiracetam should be taken with a meal. It appears to be the most effective within 1-2 hours after ingestion. Biological half-life of Pramiracetam is 4-6 hours. Therefore you should plan administrations of Pramiracetam throughout the day based on your individual needs.

Side effects:

Despite being one of the strongest, if not the strongest, racetams on the market, Pramiracetam is considered to be safe. No adverse side effects are reported. However, some users report headaches and drowsiness following its use. This is often down to higher than recommended dosages, thus simply lowering the dosage should prevent these side effects.

Positive mind.
Ordered Pramiracetam around 4 weeks ago and started taking it when it arrived. I am a 31 year old male. As well as helping me to stay focused, it keeps my mind in a positive mood. When I am for example meditating or working on a projects that I need to have complete focus on so it is at a high standard and completed on time. After consuming it takes around and hour or so to feel the effects. I would say however, some sort of Choline based Nootropic is also needed to stop side effects from Pramiracetam such as unwanted headaches. It also seemed to help with my slight anxiety problem that I have been having over the past few months which I am delighted at as the anxiety has been causing me a few minor problems latelyOrder arrived quicker than estimated which was also great.

Great memory improvement
Being new to nootropics, i decided to start with Pramiracetam and choline together. 800mg of pramiracetam and 1600mg of choline. By taking choline with the pramiracetam I did not experience any side effects such as headaches all be it I have only been taking this around a month. Others have reccomended taking 1200mg a day, but i am seing good effects at 800mg so I am happy with that. Brain function has been a huge improvement, in terms of taking in information in and remembering them. Past memories are also clearer, and quicker to recall. Going to order again definetely.
